The Ashbrook neighborhood was developed on the Ashcraft Dairy Farm, owned by the Ashcraft family and operated from 1907 until 1950. In those years of dairy operation, this part of Mecklenburg County was largely undeveloped and considered "country" by city residents living in Dilworth and Myers Park. [1]
